Description: This violin is a copy of a Nicolas Lupot violin of 1798 from the Laberte-Humberte workshops made around 1930. It has a dark brown varnish with a hint of orange. A 2 piece back and a fine grain spruce top give the instrument a look of some quality.

The instrument is in very good condition and is fitted with Pisastro Tonica strings and a Wittner fine tuner tail piece.

Sold with Vatelot-Rampal certificate of provence.

Characteristics: Powerful, well rounded & full tone across the range.

Background: The Laberte workshop produced a large range of instruments and bows of consistent quality. It employed over 300 people by 1920 and is well known for the many skilled craftsmen that worked there, including Camille Poirson, Charles Brugere, and Georges Apparut each of whom became well known as top makers in their lifetime.
