Description: Eugene Langonet violins are fairly rare and generally warm looking with a transparent brown varnish. Described in Henley's Dictionary of Violins and Bows as most usually having excellent tonal qualities.

Original peg fittings make the instrument of particular interest and value. They continue to function well.

Supplied with a Certificate of Authenticity from Vatelot-Rampal, long established French stringed instrument experts.

Characteristics: Warm, clear tone across the register with great clarity & power. A very special violin for advanced players from an excellent French violin maker.

Background: Eugene Langonet was born in Mirecourt, France and apprenticed to Chipot-Vuillaume. He worked for Paul Mangenot & was employed for several years by Messrs. W. E. Hill & Sons. London before returning to France to work for Sylvestre and Maucotel, Paris. He established his own premises in Nantes, 1910.
